SUSTAINABILITY

Digital infrastructure with efficient use of resources.

Sustainability is part of how we develop, build, and operate our data centers in Latin America.

As an Aligned Data Centers company, we combine renewable energy, cooling technologies, operational efficiency, and governance practices to meet our customers' digital infrastructure needs.

How we operate

Sustainability is integrated into the decisions that guide ODATA's growth in Latin America.

Our approach considers the key challenges associated with digital infrastructure, especially energy, water use, operational efficiency, health and safety, ethics, and community relations.

These themes are part of the development, construction, and operation of our data centers and guide how we work with customers, employees, suppliers, investors, and communities in the markets where we operate.

ODATA's environmental strategy combines innovation, operational efficiency, and responsible management of the resources necessary for the development of digital infrastructure in Latin America.

HIGHLIGHTS

  • Renewable Energy and Climate Change: ODATA utilizes different renewable energy strategies in its operating markets. In Brazil, it has achieved 100% renewable coverage through direct investment in generation. In Chile, it maintains long-term contracts for the supply of certified solar energy. The company also conducts an annual inventory of greenhouse gas emissions.
WATER AND OPERATIONAL RESILIENCE: Water management is directly related to the efficiency and resilience of data centers. ODATA uses closed-loop cooling systems, reducing water consumption associated with operations and supporting a more efficient infrastructure in different regional contexts.
  • SUSTAINABLE INFRASTRUCTURE: The company incorporates technologies focused on energy efficiency, operational performance, and reducing environmental impact. The introduction of Delta³ technology in Latin America, coupled with the SP02's Zero Waste certification and environmental certifications in its operations, reflects this approach.

ODATA recognizes that the development of digital infrastructure depends on the people and communities where it operates. Health and safety, professional development, and community relations are integral to how the company conducts its operations in Latin America.

HIGHLIGHTS

  • HEALTH, SAFETY AND WELL-BEING: The protection of people is integrated into the development, construction, and operation of data centers. The company maintains processes focused on risk prevention, training, and promoting health and safety in its operations.
  • PEOPLE DEVELOPMENT: ODATA continuously invests in the training and professional development of its employees, strengthening the technical and leadership skills necessary for the growth of the digital infrastructure sector.
  • DATA SOCIAL AND COMMUNITIES: Through ODATA Social, the company supports initiatives focused on youth training, professional development, and strengthening relationships with communities near its operations.

Governance supports the integration of sustainability into ODATA's strategy and operations. Corporate policies, control mechanisms, and communication channels guide the management of environmental, social, and governance issues in Latin America.

  • ESG GOVERNANCE: The company's ESG strategy is supported by corporate policies, governance structures, and monitoring of indicators that contribute to the integration of ESG issues into business decisions.
  • ETHICS AND INTEGRITY: The Integrity Program, the Code of Conduct, and corporate policies reinforce the company's commitment to ethics, transparency, and compliance.

ENERGY AREA

Free Cooling System

This system takes advantage of external conditions to reduce electricity consumption by switching off the chiller compressors and using ambient air for cooling. This helps reduce energy waste and consumption on colder days, thus lowering the PUE (Power Usage Effectiveness).
